A comedy of class, when a poor poet's family collides with a very rich one.
I designed the costumes for Caviar and Lentils, the first production of the Arab Theatre in Umm al-Fahm, directed by Hisham Suleiman. It premiered on 12 May 2023.
About the piece
Jamal al-Najmi is an unemployed poet and the father of a poor family. He collects donations for the poor, then sells them to keep his own family going, until his family collides with the very rich al-Shoumari family and everything goes wrong. A comedy about social class, adapted from an Italian comedy.
